Take a stroll at your local park
At the Memorial Park Conservancy, you can find basically anything that you want to do with your partner outdoors. Go on a walk through the trails, play some golf, have a picnic, or take a dip in the swimming pool. It’s the perfect place to relax and wake up to nature.
Brenner's Steakhouse On The Bayou
This upscale, rustic brunch spot is a gorgeous restaurant with lush greenery, waterfalls, and more on the outer deck. The idyllic scenery itself is worth the visit, but the food is also crafted as unique dishes, with perfectly paired drinks. It’s just right for a fancy morning out.
If you’re looking to just grab a coffee or a quick bite, SIphon Coffee is your best bet. They also serve larger breakfast and lunch options and beer & wine. The cafe uses an older method for brewing their coffee, giving it a more rich taste. Plus, if you come in on a Saturday morning, you and your date can catch a local musician!
Afternoon, Lunch: 12 PM- 4 PM
For over 30 years, this Houston-favorite has served authentic Italian dishes in an upscale casual atmosphere. With fire pits and beautiful artistic vivid murals lining the restaurant, La Griglia is a great lunch spot to visit with your partner for an intimate setting to eat some delicious food and have a warm conversation.
Craving a little bit of spice for your lunch? Kiran’s is the place to go. Distinguished Chef Kiran cooks up beautiful traditional Indian dishes with a modern twist. Her inventive fusion fare is worth the visit to this classic Indian restaurant.
If you and your partner are animal lovers, visiting the wildlife zoo is the perfect afternoon date. This open-range zoo features a huge variety of animals including deer, camels, zebras, and many more. There’s also a 30-minute safari tram ride and there are snacks offered at the Big Red Barn!
Berry Picking at Jollisant Farm
It’s Spring! Head out to pick some sweet ripe berries to take home with your partner. Depending on the month, you can also find pumpkins, carrots, kale, broccoli, and all sorts of other veggies.
Evening, Dinner: 4 PM - 8 PM
Over 250,000 bats fly out from under Waugh Drive Bridge on warm nights. This is a great romantic sunset date with your partner; viewing is also free from the platform, sidewalk, and bridge. You can also get a bat colony tour for a small price.
If you’re looking for a more competitive night of fun, check out Kemah Boardwalk, the best amusement park in the Houston area. One of the highlights of coming to Kemah is enjoying the Boardwalk Beast ride, a 25 minute thrill ride on a cruise. With 42 track crossovers, the most ever designed for a roller coaster, be sure to also check out the famous Boardwalk Bullet, too.
For a more low key dinner, Xin Chao is a lovely Vietnamese restaurant to visit. Serving up steaks, fried rice, and seafood dishes, the restaurant is well-known in the Houston Asian community. This is also the restaurant owned by renowned Masterchef winner, Christine Ha.
If you and your partner are fans of evening light shows, visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s Planetarium for the Dark Side of the Moon show. To the tune of Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ album, this light show uses a full-dome high definition audio and visual system to put on a spectacular show for visitors.
After Hours, Drinks & Small Bites: 8 PM - 12 AM
Late night movies are a classic date night idea, so the Showboat Drive In is great idea for those movie-lovers. The theater shows double features, and features a snack bar as well.
Spend your evening at Buffalo Bayou Park’s signature fundraising event, Cocktails in Bloom. Though this year, the fundraising event is over, Buffalo Bayou Park frequently has evenings for special events, and of course, happy hours that you can attend with your date.
Another place to head to if you’re looking for some competition is AR’s Entertainment Hub. This place features everything from bowling to laser tag to bumper cars, and so much more. You can also eat and drink at their bistro. AR’s Entertainment Hub is a perfect casual date night for you and your partner!
Enjoy the bar scene? Anvil is the place to be on a Friday or Saturday night. This bar is open until 2 AM and has a large myriad of drinks. Their prices are also not too expensive, making for a perfect little date. If you’re feeling hungry, they also have a list of bar food available.
